Pausing your streak
A Streak Skip covers one bad day. A pause covers a stretch of them - a week in bed, a long trip, recovery after surgery - so the streak you built is still there when you come back.
Starting a pause
- On the Today tab, tap the flame in the top left to open your streak screen.
- Tap Pause streak.
- Pick a start date and an end date.
- Tap Pause streak to confirm.
The rules
- A pause can last up to 90 days, counting both the first and last day.
- It can start yesterday at the earliest. A pause cannot rewrite days further back - use a Streak Skip for an older missed day.
- It must run through today or later.
- It cannot overlap another scheduled pause.
- Pausing is free, and paused days do not use your monthly Streak Skips.
A pause that starts in the future shows under Scheduled, where you can cancel it.
What a paused day means
Paused days work exactly like skipped days: they neither add to your streak nor break it. They show as neutral in the 30-day heatmap, and smart reminders never nudge you on a paused day.
Ending a pause early
Open the streak screen again - the button now reads Manage pause - and tap End pause. Today counts again from that moment. Days that were already paused stay paused.
Frequently asked questions
Can I pause after I have already missed a few days?
Only from yesterday onwards. For older days, skip each one individually from the date strip.
Do paused days count toward Perfect Month?
They are neutral there too: a Perfect Month still needs every other day of the month at goal.
