How streaks work
Your streak is the number of consecutive days you have met your step goal. It sits behind the flame icon in the top left of every tab. The rules are simple, but a few of them are worth knowing.
What counts as a day
A day counts when your total steps reach the goal that was active on that date. Stepzy counts the unbroken run of completed days ending yesterday, then adds today on top once today's goal is met.
Because today is only added after you hit the goal - never subtracted before - a streak of 40 days still reads 40 at nine in the morning. It becomes 41 the moment you cross the line, and only breaks if the day actually ends unmet.
Each day is judged by its own goal
Stepzy stores which goal applied on which date. A Saturday under a 6,000-step weekend goal counts as complete at 6,000 even if your weekday goal is 12,000, and raising your goal today will not retroactively break a streak you already earned. See Weekday, weekend and custom goals.
What breaks a streak
One thing: a day that ends below its goal and has not been skipped. When that happens the count returns to zero and starts again from your next completed day.
This is why Streak Skips exist. Skipping a missed day makes it neutral - it neither completes nor breaks the run, so the days either side stay joined.
Midnight rollover
Streaks roll over at local midnight. Yesterday is settled, today starts at zero steps, and your streak carries forward. Stepzy handles the rollover in the background, so your Home Screen widget and Apple Watch show the correct number first thing in the morning without you opening the app.

Frequently asked questions
Does a partial day count?
No. A day counts only once total steps reach that day's goal. Ninety-nine percent is a miss.
Does lowering my goal restore a broken streak?
No. Past days are permanently graded against the goal that was active then. A Streak Skip is the way to protect a missed day.
Does my streak update if I never open the app?
Yes. Stepzy keeps the count current in the background so widgets and your Watch stay right.
What is my longest streak?
The Patterns section of Insights carries a BEST STREAK tile for the selected year.
