Viewing past days and step history
Stepzy keeps your recent days one tap away. The date strip on the Today screen holds 28 days; longer ranges live on the Insights tab.
The date strip
The strip shows today plus the 27 days before it, newest on the right. Each day is a circle with a ring around it and the step count underneath.
| Ring colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Green | You met that day's goal |
| Amber | You got at least halfway |
| Red | You finished under half the goal |
Each day is graded against the goal that was actually active on that date, not today's goal. Changing your goal now will not retroactively repaint your history or break a streak you already earned.
Opening a past day
Tap any circle. The hero card, hourly chart and stat cards all switch to that date. A capsule appears inside the card reading Viewing a previous day, and a floating Back to Today pill sits above the tab bar.
Tap either one to return. Stepzy also snaps back to today automatically when you leave the tab, when you background the app, and at midnight.
Skipping a missed day
Select a past day you missed and Stepzy offers a Streak Skip card, so one bad day does not wipe out a month of consistency. You can also long-press any day in the strip to skip it directly. See Streak Skips.
Longer history
For anything past 28 days, use the Insights tab:
- The Goal Calendar is a month-by-month heatmap you can swipe backwards through.
- The Step Activity chart switches between the last 7 days and the last 30 days.
- The Boarding Pass summarises a whole year and can be stepped back up to ten years.
Frequently asked questions
How far back does Stepzy go?
As far back as Apple Health has data. Stepzy did not start counting the day you installed it - if your iPhone has been recording steps for years, the Insights calendar and yearly views can reach back into that history.
Why does an old day show zero steps?
That day has no step samples in Apple Health, usually because the phone was off, left at home, or the data predates the device.
Can I edit a past day's step count?
No. Stepzy reads Health and never writes activity data. Corrections have to be made in the Health app itself.
